My name is Sabrina Kuratana and in my current life, I am the mother of three fabulous children, the wife of the most supportive husband, and the owner/designer of cake dream where I make designer cakes and cookies.  I also launched my Signature Line of Art Gallery Cookies – a project that I LOVE!!

In my previous life, I was a solo concert violinist.  The real deal.  I graduated from The Juilliard School and the Yale School of Music.  I performed all over the world and produced two CD’s featuring new music that I commissioned for the 5-String Electric Violin.

While I was still performing, I happened to take a cake decorating class and got hooked.  I mean the real deal…..obsessed!  Every time I closed my eyes, I would imagine cake designs or cookie designs.  I would look at stained glass windows and think how gorgeous it would look on a cookie or a cake.  Between the three children and the cake decorating I wasn’t sleeping at ALL!  Since I am never one to do things half way, I devoured all of the information I could and learned as much as I could.

Well, I guess you can say that the rest is history.  a cake dream was born and I am still obsessed with designs!

Then my need to support the arts kicked in.  I would see artwork all around me and couldn’t help imagining it on cookies!  My kids would show me their artwork and I wanted to put it on a cookie for them – oh, how they LOVED that!  Then all artwork was inspiration for cookies.  I would contact artists to see if they were interested in joining me on this unique venture – it was met with great enthusiasm and disbelief that it could be done.  That is how my Signature Line of Art Gallery Cookies came to exist.  This was the first collection I created – The Modern Art Collection by Sys Oppenlander.  I love the bright colors!

Now, I have my own cake studio, my three children, my husband, my new dog, and my new life.  And I love every minute of it!
